I had a bio here, I didn’t like it. I do technology leadership. I am presently the CIO of a large state agency. Previously I ran a big piece of IT operations at a large (top ten) US city. Before that I was IT Director of Public Health, same city. Before that, many years in higher education.<\/p>\n
This spot is mostly for me, to say things out loud.\u00a0 If you are one of the 5 people reading it, welcome, but don’t assume I’m catering to you. I’m not in it for the followers.<\/strong><\/p>\n I’m ADHD and I talk about it. I’m a woman in a male-dominated field and I talk about it. I like privacy and dislike surveillance. I am very security aware but not a security practitioner. I can make projects and portfolios sing but don’t have a PMP. I have a long history of vendor and contract management. I’m a technologist and a junkie for how things are made in my soul, but my discipline is leadership and management these days. I am supportive of women, trans folx, neurodivergents, enbies, people with disabilities, and people of color in the world and in my profession\/professional environment. If you aren’t, unfollow now because I am not kind to bigots. If I offer to help, I mean it. I’m best known for being pretty direct, and for creative problem solving.<\/p>\n For many years I have resisted having a blog.\u00a0 However, I have from time to time found the need to write down some musings or my point of view on something, and have created this space. I expect I will post somewhat irregularly, and some may be more linklog-style posts, and others will be near-articles or longer thoughts.\u00a0 I do not promise they will be publication-ready, or even more than speaking out loud.\u00a0 If you’re interested in hearing the noises in my head more regularly, see me on Bluesky or LinkedIn (@amypearlman).
